The Metra Axxess AXDI-FD1 is a vehicle-specific radio replacement data interface module engineered for select Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, and Mazda vehicles (spanning model years roughly 2006 to 2022).

When upgrading the factory stereo in modern Ford-family vehicles, a standard wiring harness is insufficient because the factory radio communicates via the vehicle’s computer data network. The AXDI-FD1 serves as a translator, allowing you to install an aftermarket head unit while keeping essential factory systems functional.
